Dissemination to Providers

Based on my research on disclosure of HIV status among men who have sex with men and women (MSMW), I was invited to contribute to ​a broadsheet on HIV prevention among Latino MSMW which was circulated nationally to HIV prevention providers working with this population.

Connecting with Health Policymakers
As part of the RWJF Health Policy Research Scholars program, I recently met with various White House Economic Council and Domestic Policy advisors, Senate and Congressional staff, and federal agency directors to gain an understanding the various opportunities for researchers and academics to engage policy makers on timely issues. I have strong interests in conducting timely and policy relevant research, connecting with policymakers on issues that are important to communities, and disseminating research in nonacademic venues. 

Delivering Public Testimony

In 2009, at the height of the California budget cuts, I presented research findings on the effectiveness of AIDS programs to the Los Angeles County Budget Committee, winning the programs an additional year of funding.
